Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand actress. Born in Winnipeg and born in Wellington Paquin was able to make her acting debut portraying Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at age 11 making the actress second at the age of 11 in Oscar history. She won the role of Flora McGrath the daughter of Mute Scottish pianist, who in the late 19th century relocates back to New Zealand for an arranged marriage when she responded to an open audition call when she was just nine years old and had almost no prior experience in acting. When she was in her teens, the actress was able to move to the United States. Paquin played the child title in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in 1996. She also played the lead role for the role of the Queen in Fly Away Home, a film that was released in that same year. Paquin did a brief appearance in the television movie of 1997 adaptation of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad, she played the Spanish queen as a minor character. She played teenagers on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) and A Walk on the Moon (1999) and played the character of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa as a character in Almost Famous (2000).
