Lucy Liu is a voice actress singer and director. She is also an actor. Beautiful, intelligent and skilled actor, she's an model for Asian actors aspiring to be big stars in Hollywood. An array of highly successful initial roles in a popular TV show made her popular for her role in the show in Ally McBeal, where she appeared as Ling Woo. Following her fame, she got major part on the shows Shanghai Noon (1998) and Charlie's Angels (2000). Following that, she gave an her best performance in Quentin Tarantino Kill Bill Volume 1 as Japanese crime-lord O Ren Ishii. In the same period she was also in box office failures, including Rise: Blood Hunter. For animated films such as Kung Fu Panda, Tinker Bell and others she voiced characters with prominent voices. The small screen role of Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia didn't yield any positive results. An appearance in the critically acclaimed police drama Southland has helped her regain recognition as a prominent actress. Liu chooses her roles carefully so that she doesn't get stereotyped in an industry that is highly competitive. Although she's embraced her roots she has not let them limit her as an artist.
